A diocesan pilgrimage to Esquipulas on the 250th aniversary of it's consecration
Our parish joined the diocesis of Jalapa for a massive pilgrimage to the shrine of the Basilica of Esquipulas. Around 250 persons from our parish travelled early and took part in the pilgrimage that was attended by around 4000 pilgrims. more...

Feast of Corpus celebrated in our parish
The Blessed Sacrament was taken in procession today in the town's streets as we celebrated the solemnity of Corpus. Several parishioners attended including  children who are preparing to receive their first Holy Communion. They covered the streets where the procession passed with flower petals.

Feast in honour of St Anthony
The feast in honour of St. Anthony is celebrated in the villages of el Espinal and las Ventanas.They are two distinct communities of our parish however both are devout Catholics.
El Espinal was the municipality's centre in the 1800's however today it's the smallest village.Las Ventanas on the other hand is the poorest village.

Mario Dimech
 A seminarian from Malta, Mario Dimech passed  the last six months at San Manuel Chaparron performing pastoral work in our community.
We thank God for his presence and for the work he carried amongst us.He immediately felt one of our community and worked with the young students at the Madre Teresa College. He also gave pastoral formation to the parish's altar boys.
